MessageThe last time I was here i forgot to say I was in 42co.40bn at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii Sept 19th 1951. I would like to hear from others who were there at that time. God bless America and our boys in battle. Thanks from an old vet.

MessageI remember 61 years ago on the evening of the 16th of Sept 1950 a wet-behind the ears kid from Hoosierland, climbed down the rope ladders from a troop ship into a landing craft and minutes later landed on the mudflats of Inchon, Korea. I remember my worst fear of that time was not the landing in a war zone, but of getting my feet caught in the ropes and falling in the ocean between the two ships. We moved inland to establish a forward Command Post in a little town called An-Yang-ni. It was dark when we got there with some sporadic Sniper Fire. The beginning of 13 months in South and North Korea. My God has it been that long, dont seem like it.

MessageI took my basic training in the Hawaiian infantry training center in Oahu in 1951. Went to korea Feb. 1952. Served in 121 trans truck co, driving troops, ammo, fuel. Stationed in Oijombo but crossed into N. Korea daily. I took part in OPERATION LITTLE SWITCH the exchange of prisoners of war. The sick and wounded were the first. I rotated home on a ship carrying home the same sick and wounded American soldiers. I talked to many of them on the ship and heard some stories of how they were treated as prisoners. Not good. Thanks for letting me vent. Bye now.

MessageMost people never heard of THE FORGOTTER WAR (KOREAN WAR). I was a right gunner on the B-29 AC 3934. AC Commander was Col. Lyle F. Knight . I still have a dress uniform and wear it . The American flag flies in my front yard.

MessageThank you for this wonderful website. Cleveland High School, Seattle Washington has a Memorial Forest dedicated to students lost in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. I wrote a book about the WWII men and continue to search for information on all wars. Every year we hold a Memorial Day ceremony at the forest and this year, with student participation, there will be new information and a new name discovered on your website. Thank you Mrs. Brown and Korean War Educator.
