MessageMy dad then Pvt Charles E Thayer was at Chosin 1950-51. Oldest bro 2ndLt George E Thayer also in Korea. Dad was Mar 7th Reg. Have official photos of brothers, one of Daddy with 2 buddies making bread in C-rat cans, looking like gangsters not Marines. would love to hear from anyone who remembers either one. Both from Nebraska City, NE, ended up at ElToro. Daddy became Navigator, Lead Nav by the time I came along in 1956. He went by Charlie.

MessageThis message is for the family and survivors of the March 20 1989 HMM 363 crash near Pohang, South Korea I want my fellow Devil Dogs and the family of the fallen to know some information which you all may not be aware of. For a bit of background, I was part of the Squadron which lost one of our CH46 3 days prior HMM 161. We were part of a combined unit stationed aboard the USS Belleau Wood, which happen to be one of the hospital ships for the task force. Many of the wounded were medivaced to us. There were Marines who medical staff told us were not going to make it. Those Marines were in a triage area off of the flight deck. One of the crew chiefs from the CH 53 squadron attached to us heard the prognosis. He sat with those Marines and held their hands and other Marines joined in. We did not let these Marines die alone. A brother was with each one which we had power to be with.

MessageThey said my father, Earl Allen Lilley, served in the Korea War. I remember seeing his old army book a few times, but he never would talk about it. Not sure if my father's middle name spelling is correct or not. Thank you for your time and all you do. God bless all our Vets,
