Here’s another picture of our battalion surgeon, caught looking at the camera. I was passing by when I noted him helping the "engineers" and I couldn’t resist taking the picture. This was the new battalion aid station with the top completed except for putting an additional thickness of soil on it. Again, his name is James E. Caple. He did a masterful job of keeping all of us well and able to go. He had some pretty interesting stories about guys who wanted the purple heart and some who got it.
