This is the port of Sasebo, Japan, a few hundred yards out. I didnít
understand the Armyís procedure because we spent 3 or 4 days in Inchon
then shipped about 800 miles to Sasebo, Japan, for 3 or 4 days and then on
to San Francisco. I understand that the Sasebo stop was removed later on.
This was my last contact with Japan but it was fine with me. I learned to like
Japan during my six-month training stay before Korea but I wasnít teary
eyed to leave the Orient. The ship didnít move fast enough for me.
